2013 Illegal Open Dump Remediation Grant Information Now Available

Financial assistance through the Kentucky Pride Fund Illegal Open Dump Grant Program provides counties with additional funds necessary to help identify and rid their communities of old dump sites.

Grants are administered for illegal dump cleanup through the Kentucky Division of Waste Management’s Recycling and Local Assistance Branch in Frankfort. Now is the time for Kentucky counties to apply for 2013 funds. The 2013 illegal open dump grant applications were distributed at the beginning of August through the County Judge/Executives Association and were also sent to the county solid waste coordinators.

The 2013 illegal open dump grant application and supporting documents can also be accessed online at http://waste.ky.gov/rla/grants.

All dumps have to be pre-inspected by Division of Waste Management regional office personnel in order to be eligible for an illegal open dump grant.

Completed applications must be submitted to Lisa Evans of the Recycling and Local Assistance Branch by 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 1, 2012.
