Public Notice Regarding Blue Grass Army Depot

The Kentucky Division of Waste Management’s Hazardous Waste Branch has tentatively approved a Resource Conservation and Recovery Act permit modification for a chemical storage permit at the Blue Grass Army Depot in Madison County, Ky.

The Blue Grass Army Depot is a 14,596-acre facility operated by the Unites States Army. The depot was established in April 1942 during World War II by the War Department as an expansion of ordnance supply depots. It has a total of 48 permitted hazardous waste storage units and this modification will add one unit, bringing the total to 49.

Public involvement is encouraged and comments are welcome. Anyone wishing to comment on the tentative decision to approve this permit modification should view the public notice and fact sheet for complete details.
