Report Tracks Progress at the Maxey Flats Disposal Site
The first online Construction Progress Report for the Maxey Flats Disposal Site (MFDS) is now posted on the Kentucky Division of Waste Management’s website. This report is a new online tool intended to inform and educate anyone interested in MFDS final cap construction progress and related activities.
“In order to allow the public to check on the progress of the cap construction work, we have put together a construction progress report that is available on the Maxey Flats Disposal Site webpage,” said Environmental Scientist Consultant Tim Hubbard, P.G., of the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection.
“We plan to provide regular updates as the work progresses. With the severe wintry weather conditions in the area through early March, it created some delays in the construction work, especially moving of dirt. Hopefully, now that spring has arrived, we will see some better weather which will allow the work to continue at a faster pace,” stated Hubbard.
Upcoming construction progress reports and more information on MFDS will be located here on the Kentucky Division of Waste Management’s website. You may also contact Tim Hubbard at Tim.Hubbard@ky.gov or 502-564-6716, ext. 4602.
