Not all news needs to be covered through an extended article. But it is still important that you know about activities and decisions that may affect your business, communities and families. To help keep you informed, the Division of
Compliance Assistance (DCA) routinely compiles a short listing of state and federal topics that we call SNIPS. If you have questions about these items or need environmental assistance, contact DCA at 800-926-8111 or envhelp@ky.gov.

- EPA Releases Draft Assessment on the Potential Impacts to Drinking Water Resources – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a draft assessment on the potential impacts of hydraulic fracturing activities on drinking water resources in the United States. The assessment shows that while hydraulic fracturing activities in the U.S. are carried out in a way that have not led to widespread, systemic impacts on drinking water resources, there are potential vulnerabilities in the water lifecycle that could impact drinking water. The study will be finalized after review by the Science Advisory Board and public review and comment. Public comments can be submitted and viewed by using the Regulations.gov website for Docket ID No. EPA-HQ-OA-2015-0245.
