Hazardous Waste Training a Success

A claIMG_0951ss of 25 completed an important training in Hazardous Waste Introduction and Compliance at the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection on May 25 at Fair Oaks Lane in Frankfort.

The Division of Compliance Assistance hosted the training, which covered Hazardous Waste Determinations, including common exceptions to the rules,  Hazardous Generators and Requirements and Universal Waste.

The training also covered Special Topics including Pharmaceutical Wastes, Solvent Wipe Rules, Aerosol Can Management and Status in Upcoming Regulations.

IMG_0952One of the most common questions asked by the regulated community is what to expect when an inspection is going to happen at a regulated facility.

Compliance assistance trainers took the class through the most common hazardous waste violations, instructing them on how to avoid the most common hazardous waste compliance pitfalls, and finally covering how to respond to an emergency involving hazardous waste.
