The Division of Compliance Assistance (DCA) is hosting a Floodplains, Streams and Wetlands Compliance Workshop to be held on Nov. 2, 2016, in Louisville. This workshop has been designed to educate attendees on key topics, programs, regulations, compliance requirements and permits associated with activities conducted in or along a stream, floodplain or wetland. Such activities may include stream alteration or relocation; small impoundments of water; dredging or filling; working with dams, bridges or culverts; or building residential and commercial buildings. The workshop will also include case studies, provide an overview of Stormwater Construction permitting and will lead attendees through what to expect during an inspection.
During this full-day event, knowledge and expertise will be brought to you by the U.S. Corps of Engineers, Ky. Department of Fish and Wildlife, Northern Kentucky University and Ky. Division of Water. Attendees will receive an overview of 404 U.S. Army Corps of Engineer Permits, 401 Water Quality Certification and Floodplain Stream Construction programs. The workshop will provide a general understanding of potential applicability and requirements in order to avoid regulatory compliance issues. If you are planning or currently working on a project along a stream, in a floodplain or river or frequently engage in construction activities, the Floodplains, Streams and Wetlands Compliance Workshop is for you.
The workshop will take place at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Training Room, located in the USGS, Water Science Center in Louisville. Please see the workshop’s agenda for additional details.
