Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection (DEP) Commissioner Tony Hatton today announced the appointment of Melissa K. Duff as the Director of the Division for Air Quality (DAQ).
Duff, who most recently was the Assistant Director of DAQ, for Air Quality, joined the Division in June of 2002. She has served in the Program Planning Branch as an Engineer Assistant, Environmental Control Supervisor, and the Branch Manager.
“I am pleased that Melissa has agreed to take on this important role,” said Commissioner Hatton. “Melissa’s experience, knowledge, organizational skills and work ethic will ensure that our air quality program accomplishes its mission and objectives.”
Duff is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. For more than 10 years, she worked in industry as both a process design engineer and quality engineer.
She resides in Frankfort with her husband, Robert, and their two children, Caleb, 13, and Emmaline, 9.
