FRANKFORT – Officials from the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection (DEP) today appeared before the House Interim Joint Committee for Local Government to present the Department’s report on meeting House Joint Resolution 56, which directed it to identify potential solutions to challenges relating to small wastewater systems.

Energy’s Future, Gov. Bevin Headline Final Day of Governor’s Conference in Lexington
Day Two of the 41st annual Governor’s Conference on Energy and the Environment saw both the theoretical, the practical and a call to action by Gov. Matt Bevin to close out the sessions.
More than 200 people then attended the awards luncheon at the Lexington Convention Center at which 10 awards were given out to those individuals or businesses honored for preserving and enhancing this beautiful state of ours through energy efficiency, soil conservation, mine land reclamation, farmland stewardship or innovation.

Department for Environmental Protection Recognizes Employee Contributions to Environmental Protection
Every year the Department for Environmental Protection honors employees who have gone above and beyond their job titles and duties to protect the environment, educate the public and ensure Kentucky is using and preserving its natural resources in a responsible manner.
Last Monday, Environmental Protection Commissioner Aaron Keatley, Dep. Commissioner Tony Hatton Energy and Environment Cabinet Secretary Charles Snavely honored 19 individual employees and six teams with outstanding service to the environment.
