Kentucky Division of Environmental Program Support 2017 Annual Report Available Online

The Kentucky Division of Environmental Program Support (DEPS) is pleased to announce the release of the annual report for the 2017 state fiscal year. The mission of the division is to support the mission of the Department for Environmental Protection by:

  • Managing all of the administrative functions of the department including budgeting, human resources, facilities, vehicle fleet and information technology;
  • Providing analytical laboratory services; and
  • Managing the Environmental Response Team for response to environmental emergencies.

Energy’s Future, Gov. Bevin Headline Final Day of Governor’s Conference in Lexington

Day Two of the 41st annual Governor’s Conference on Energy and the Environment saw both the theoretical, the practical and a call to action by Gov. Matt Bevin to close out the sessions.

More than 200 people then attended the awards luncheon at the Lexington Convention Center at which 10 awards were given out to those individuals or businesses honored for preserving and enhancing this beautiful state of ours through energy efficiency, soil conservation, mine land reclamation, farmland stewardship or innovation.

41st Annual Governor’s Conference Wraps Day One

Brownfields for Bankers Workshop

Bankers, developers and development agency officials will want to mark their calendars to attend the Brownfields for Bankers Workshop on Aug. 10, 2017. This workshop will provide an introduction to brownfield redevelopment, since developers are increasingly recognizing the value of revitalizing brownfields. Brownfields are properties that are abandoned or underutilized due to real or perceived environmental contamination.

Department for Environmental Protection Recognizes Employee Contributions to Environmental Protection

Every year the Department for Environmental Protection honors employees who have gone above and beyond their job titles and duties to protect the environment, educate the public and ensure Kentucky is using and preserving its natural resources in a responsible manner.

Last Monday, Environmental Protection Commissioner Aaron Keatley, Dep. Commissioner Tony Hatton Energy and Environment Cabinet Secretary Charles Snavely honored 19 individual employees and six teams with outstanding service to the environment.
